Google released a short video this week featuring several of the company’s employees speaking out in favor of marriage equality.
The video, titled “Googlers Supporting Marriage Equality,” was made to announce a partnership between Google and The Four, a progressive group working to promote marriage equality in the four states where the issue is appearing on ballots this Election Day — Washington, Maryland, Minnesota and Maine.
“I support marriage equality, as well as many of my friends and colleagues here at Google,” says a YouTube employee in the beginning of the video.
The video then features several other Google employees, some of whom are gay, explaining why they support marriage equality.
“My partner and I are actually engaged, and finding a way to get married right now is kind of tough,” says one Google employee. “This is a really important part of our culture and the way we’re evolving,” says another.
The video comes a few months after Google began a worldwide campaign, starting in Poland and Singapore, to advocate for marriage equality rights in countries where it has offices.
Other major technology companies, including eBay and Microsoft, have also supported marriage equality.
